What is a Life Transition?
A life transition is any change that impacts your life in a significant way. You may find yourself letting go of something and moving towards something else. Transitions can often be challenging and may bring doubt and insecurity through unstable times. As we move from familiar and stable to something new and possibly unexpected, it is important to remind ourselves that we can manage the change with positive outcomes.
If you find yourself facing one of these life transitions, you may benefit from working with a coach:
- Welcoming a new baby or child
- A physical move
- Becoming empty nesters
- Transitioning your child/adult relationship to an adult/adult relationship with your grown children
- Starting a new marriage
- Ending a marriage
- Retiring
- Parenting Stages
- Changing jobs or careers
- Leaving home for college/Living independently for the first time
- Reparenting the adult within you
- Making the transition from college to career
Through coaching, we will focus on your goals and discover a plan that allows you to navigate this season of change with hope, while seeking clarity and purpose on your new path.
“Life is no straight and easy corridor along which we travel free and unhampered, but a maze of passages, through which we must seek our way, lost and confused, now and again checked in a blind alley. But always, if we have faith, a door will open for us, not perhaps one that we ourselves would ever have thought of, but one that will ultimately prove
good for us.” – A.J. Cronin
How is Life Transitions Coaching different from counseling?
Simply put, therapy or counseling can include coaching, but coaching does not include therapy. Therapy will take into account your medical care and needs and could provide long-term support. In contrast, coaching will be brief and will focus on reaching specific goals or obtaining certain outcomes in your life.
Our coaching model is flexible to accommodate in-person sessions for those in the Atlanta area or virtual and can take place in any private and quiet location. Additionally, my coaching clients are not limited geographically, meaning that my clients can be living anywhere in the world.
